One Day, by David Nicholls

One Day, by David Nicholls

I’ve just finished reading this wonderful, sad, moving, and sometimes funny novel. It’s not the best novel I’ve read, and in opposite to “The Remains of the Day” and “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro I don’t think that I would be reading it a second time. Anyway, I can highly recommend this book, especially for readers 40+ who have experienced both the sweetness and sadness in life. If you’ve already read it, please tell us how you liked, or not, this novel.

  1. I enjoyed the construction of the story, but not the narrative and felt the book could have been shorter and would have carried as much weight.
