This year’s last pen is not a shirtpocket friendly pen, but nevertheless a pen/nib that you can have a lot of fun with. It’s a steel nib which is said to be suitable for beginners, the Nikko G. Thank you all, and see you again!

In my Shirtpocket, October 2017: Hero 616
At work as a physician I’m often in situations where I’m not comfortable using one of my 100+ $ pens. Then I reach for a Hero 616. One of the cheapest pens you can buy, but it is very reliable and writes with a precise thin line!
One of the reasons is of course that it is a copy of one of the best designs ever, the Parker “51”. Can you identify which one is a Hero and which one is a genuine Parker “51”?
If you plan to buy a Hero 616s I would advice you to:
I. Be sure to buy a pen of the big size, also called Jumbo size.
II. The seller that I trust on Ebay is jewelrymathematics. He is selling genuine Heroes with free shipping.
ÄNTLIGEN! At last! Kazuo Ishiguro wins the Nobel Prize!
As I said at least five years ago:
Kazuo Ishiguro is one of the greatest authors of all time! He has been my undisputed favourite author for more than a decade, and he is worthy the prize for some of his works alone, like “The Remains of the Day”, “Never Let Me Go” and “The Buried Giant”!
I hope to meet him in person when he comes to Stockholm!
And yes, I already have his autograph!
Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
For how long are innocent women, men and children going to to be killed in the very heart of our Western Civilisation?
Oh, I forgot that the women had skirts that were too short…

Sometimes when one is thinking of friends, or pens, it is easy to forget those who always have been there for you, like this pen that I have been using daily at work for the last ten years. I’m using it for signing documents, and for writing fancy retirement- and birthday cards…
The ink is my choice for this summer:
J. Herbin “Vert Empire”
See you in August for another pen…
